Scholarships for Queen Mary Students
The Department has a policy of awarding a scholarship of £2000 to students
who apply to study for a materials-based master's degree from an emerging country.
[This does not include the department's programmes in Technology Exploitation
and Management (MSc and MBA)]
Eligible counties include:
- Bangladesh
- China
- Cyprus
- India
- Iran
- Malaysia
- Nigeria
- Pakistan
- Sri Lanka
- South Korea

- Vietnam
In order to be eligible for these awards you must:
- be classified as an international student for fees purposes
- Apply for a master's programme in the Department of Materials by 31st
August.
Please note:
- There is no need to make a separate scholarship application. All eligible
candidates will be considered on the basis of the information provided
in their application form. You will be informed whether you have been
awarded a scholarship when we make you an offer.
- Candidates must not be in receipt of any other University scholarship
or a full fees scholarship from any other source (e.g. The Chevening
Scheme)
- The scholarship awards will be deducted from tuition fees payable
to the University
- In most cases the University only awards partial scholarships and
competition for these awards is intense. Students must be able to finance
the remainder of their tuition fees and living expenses.
