The Seventh International Vacuum Electron Sources Conference

Dates: Sunday 3 August 2008 — Wednesday 6 August 2008

Location: London, UK

Hosted by: Queen Mary, University of London

Introduction

The Seventh International Vacuum Electron Sources Conference will be hosted by Queen Mary, one of the largest multifaculty colleges of the University of London. The Mile End campus, the venue of the conference, is historically the home of Queen Mary College, which began life in 1885 as the People's Palace, a philanthropic endeavour to provide East Londoners with education and social activities. London is one of the largest cities in Europe offering a great mixture of cultures and unique experiences for visitors of all ages to enjoy its art galleries, museums, parks, theatres, pleasure centres and historical buildings and monuments.

This meeting will provide opportunities of dissemination of information to the users, manufacturers, academics, and students working in the key area of device and source technologies. The programme will cover the full range of activities from fundamental materials properties through to their application in advanced electromagnetic systems, specially at higher frequency. As in past conferences, the meeting and social events will provide a unique opportunity to renew friendships with colleagues and friends, interact with customers, and meet students.

Papers will be published online in a special issue of the Journal of Physics: Conference Series from IOP Publishing - subject to rigorous peer-review.
