Welcome to the Interdisciplinary Research Centre (IRC) in Biomedical Materials at Queen Mary, University of London, with associated laboratories at Queen Mary's School of Medicine and Dentistry. Founded in 1991 with core funding from the UK Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC), we are a well-established and highly successful specialist centre which provides a valuable focus for research into biomaterials and related areas with an exciting and innovative active research programme.

As a centre of excellence with inherent multidisciplinarity and an ability to respond to new developments that cut across subject boundaries, we have a proven ability to translate fundamental research to clinical care.
