Thomas Young Centre (TYC) Student Day 2019

The Thomas Young Centre's prestigious annual Student Day took place on Friday 15th February 2019. Shortlisted TYC PhD students present their amazing research through talks and posters and competed for 'Best Talk' and 'Best Poster' prizes. Twelve successful applicants were invited to present their research by way of a short talk which was judged by a panel of experts.

Queen Mary's Miguel Rivera (supervised by MRI's Dr Rachel Crespo-Otero) presented his paper 'Computational Methods for Photochemistry in Molecular Crystals' and won the runner up prize!

Our congratulations to Miguel in a highly competitive field against some of the best researchers from Imperial College London, UCL, King's and Queen Mary.

The Thomas Young Centre @tyc_london welcomed keynote speakers: Professor David Wales from @Cambridge_Uni and Dr Jess Wade @jesswade, prominent advocate for gender equality in science, and RA at Imperial College.
